Our research team at i3 Simulations has published a new conference paper highlighting our groundbreaking virtual reality platform, Resuscitation VR. Titled “Innovation in Emergency Care: Resuscitation VR for Clinical Skills Training”, the paper appears in the proceedings of the highly respected 8th International XR-Metaverse Conference held in 2023.
As described in the abstract, Resuscitation VR provides an immersive simulated environment where healthcare professionals can safely enhance their critical care skills. The ultra-realistic VR replicates actual clinical settings, allowing users to stabilise simulated patients during emergency scenarios. The platform captures performance data, delivers real-time feedback, and enables training progress monitoring.
With over 80 healthcare organisations worldwide already adopting Resuscitation VR, it is transforming traditional emergency care education. Validation studies confirm the platform’s effectiveness and high levels of acceptance among users.
Moving forward, we plan to expand the simulation library, enable international remote multi-user training capabilities, build more accessibility features, and conduct ongoing evaluation research. We believe Resuscitation VR will revolutionise medical training and help save lives.
Lead author TJ Matthews (Research Manager) and co-authors Tom Dolby (CTO), Prof. Silvia Bressan, and Dr. Todd Chang did a phenomenal job spearheading this project. We are proud to be publishing such innovative research that advances our mission of leveraging technology to improve healthcare education.
