Our team at i3 Simulations recently visited the prestigious medical simulation training institute IMMAST in Mumbai to showcase our virtual reality healthcare education platforms.
As a leader in simulation-based healthcare education across Asia, IMMAST operates an expansive 18,000 sq ft cutting-edge facility in Mumbai. With ultra-modern labs stocked with advanced simulation technology and a world-class teaching faculty, IMMAST has trained over 15,000 medical professionals to date. Speaking with their directors and faculty, there seems to be good potential to complement their physical medical simulators with custom VR training modules.
Currently IMMAST utilises life-like mannequins and tissue models for scenarios ranging from routine checkups to complex surgery. With VR, those cases can be simulated digitally as well. Trainees could access a library of interactive patient practices and procedures.
We came away very excited by a future partnership between an esteemed institution like IMMAST focused on medical training coupled with our VR development capability. Offering doctors VR and physical simulation side-by-side provides option and flexibility.
IMMAST also serves as a pipeline for potential VR content development. With over 300 specialised faculty on staff, their medical minds could help design accurate scenarios reflecting conditions in India. This local perspective enables highly tailored experiences.
Collaborating with IMMAST provides a platform to showcase i3’s VR healthcare solutions to thousands of medical professionals while aiding the institute in expanding offerings. If VR training can enhance competence and confidence in even a small way, patients ultimately benefit. We look forward to further discussions around pairing capabilities.
