Using XR To Save Lives @ Educators In VR
Using XR To Save Lives @ Educators In VR
We share our experience presenting Resuscitation VR at the fantastic Educators in VR AltSpace conference

We’re excited to share our experiences from the recent Educators in VR event, where we had the opportunity to showcase our work and engage with an audience passionate about the intersection of education and virtual reality. The event, held on the 23rd of April 2021, was a fantastic platform for dialogue, learning, and collaboration.

Our presentation, titled “Using XR to Save Lives,” highlighted our commitment to revolutionizing healthcare training through extended reality (XR) technology. The i3 Simulations team, represented by our CTO Tom Dolby and Research Manager TJ Matthews, introduced attendees to our work within healthcare emergency training and shared our insights on developing effective XR training solutions.

One of the most exciting elements of our presentation was the chance to demonstrate our leading application, Resuscitation VR. Used by the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and over 70 medical institutions globally, Resuscitation VR brings immersive, non-linear learning to the world of emergency medicine. Attendees got a firsthand look at how we employ immersive technology to recreate high-stress scenarios, preparing medical professionals in a safe and controlled environment.

We also delved into our research outcomes, showcasing the tangible benefits of XR technology in medical training. Additionally, we shared our best practices, giving attendees an in-depth understanding of how we design, implement, and evaluate our XR training simulations.

Uniquely, our presentation was given through virtual avatars within the AltSpace platform, and we even presented a recreated version of our Resus VR simulation. This not only showcased our technology but also demonstrated how immersive platforms can be used for dynamic, interactive presentations.

Being a part of the Educators in VR event was an exciting and rewarding experience, allowing us to share our expertise and learn from others in the field. As we reflect on the event, we’re eager to continue pushing the boundaries of XR in healthcare training and look forward to future opportunities to share our progress.

Stay tuned to our blog for updates on our latest research, developments, and event participations. Our journey in transforming healthcare training through XR is far from over, and we’re excited about the road ahead.
